| Just wondering, are the Zodiac CH601 and CH 650 able to fly again? I know that those airplanes are grounded because of airframe failures and inflight breakups but has the company fixed the problem completely yet? I might want to fly it in the future. |

| I've seen the engineering drawings for the approved structural modification, and the fix has received FAA approval. So, it should be possible to comply with the mandatory service bulletin to put these planes back in the air. But, I have not actually seen one that's been modified, and I don't know how many are now compliant. You might want to check with ADM. Their website, http://www.newplane.com/, appears not to have been updated in a year or so -- thus, you might need to phone them to get an answer. |

I have a friend with a 650XL. He had the wing modification completed in December and January, and has been back in the air for several months now.
He had not experienced any flutter or other issues before the mod, but says the plane still flies great though the aileron counterweights created a different feel that he had to get used to. The modification added 21 lbs to the empty weight. |
