Well after what seems like forever I solo'd today.. 3 picture pefect take off and landings... okay.. the third landing wasn't as pretty but it was a safe landing and the aircraft is re-usable. The Sport Cruiser is a great little airplane. It is amazing how much of a confidence booster solo'ing is. Looking forward to the next step and then the checkride. Should only be a few more hours and I will be there... with a license to learn as that is how I see this..
Off to celebrate with a good dinner and a good nights sleep before tomorrows cross country.

Thanks Prof. Paul... I did have great fun... I don't know why I took so long to do this. But all I know is that I can now say that I am part of a very elite group of people.

Everyone progresses at his or her own pace, Gene. There is no wrong time to solo! |

Prof Paul.. true... what I meant by that is why I took so long to start
lessons. I should have done this 5 years ago when I first heard of the
Sport Pilot Cert. But you are right. I had 21hrs in my log when I solo's
today. My CFI said I would have solo'd 4hrs earlier if we could have
gotten with the DPE sooner. I actually feel that I was ready to solo.. no
nerves..
Oh.. and don't let my good friend and Remos partner get too big of a
head for earning his Cert in only 20.4 hrs... I still think my landings are
better than his!
Thanks again for your insight and encouragement here. I always enjoy
your posts.

Hey, Gene. WTG and Congratulations. Yes, you have joined a very small group of people who managed to do what you just accomplished - a major milestone for sure.
Go out and enjoy your cross country flights and good luck with your upcoming checkride. Wishing you CAVU and safe flights. |

Hey Gene,
Congratulations!!! Looks like you've been flying at VPC.
Is Kimmy your instructor or Ben.
They are both superb.
Whose Sport Cruiser are you flying? Last I knew, Ben and Kim both had N-Numbered Flightstars which are no good for commercial use now. Ben probably had 3000+ hours of DUAL GIVEN in THAT SAME FLIGHTSTAR! I'll bet he has given upwards of 100 Sport Pilot Checkrides in it since becoming a DPE.
Has one of them bought a Sport Cruiser? |

| Congratulations!!!! How was it? Was it scary at all? Did you feel scared before or during the solo? Or was it the time of your life? Glad you had the solo! |

Bryan, I am training with Atlanta Sport Flight out of FTY. We went to VPC
to see Ben to get my student certificate. After that was done my
instructor (Lukasz Shaded) turned to me and said go make 3 take off and
landings to a full stop.. so I did.. when I returned I lost the back of my
shirt... I still need to do a solo cross country and finish my solo hours
and then will prep for the check ride with Ben before he lets it drop in
August.
Thanks again..

Kevin, I was surprised how calm I was. It was the a great moment in my
