Plus everyone knows what a cub is! Especially up here in Lock Haven, where they all were born! Downside of using antique Sport Pilot Eligible aircraft (aside from insurance costs) is that our LSRM-A and Rotax certificates are worthless... Ah, almost all were born there except for a few thousand in ...

We just bought a cub to add to our fleet (Remos G3 and PiperSport). The demand is incredible, as we are the only school within 2 hours offering tailwheel training and no place to go fly in a cub nearby as well. The problem with the T/W is with current pilots who fly those tri-gear planes...they are ...

Re: Remos GX electrical problems

I purchased a Remos GX last year with the aviator II glass panel. I have been having severe voltage drop offs as the plane heats up. Mainly affects the radios. (tansmissions are broken up, particularly at low RPM). Remos is reportedly having this problem with many of the aircraft delivered with the...

The only thing you have to have the medical for is to take the private check ride.... Do you? Can't you act as PIC in a Sport plane and carry passengers with only a Sport Pilot License. For the checkride I know the applicant is PIC which would be legal in a LSA.... Unless some one else has spoken w...

Snip... Once you were ready to solo you were ready to solo, you didn't have to wait or worry about passing the test. The written test isn't a requirement for solo. There is a take home written test that your instructor has to give you before you can solo....this is different than the written test be...

Re: Class B,C and D Endorsement

Well it's official, I have completed my Class B,C and D Endorsement. I had already completed my Class D training and since my instructor is such a stickler, one of the things I really like about him, he said we needed to spend some quality time in Bravo Airspace. We set out on Sunday and completed ...

Re: I'm 6'1", 280lbs. Is a light sport certificate poss

I feel so fortunate to have found this awesome website! I am very interested in obtaining my light sport certificate, but as my subject states, I'm no lightweight. I recently visited an FBO in my neighborhood and spoke to a gentleman who basically told that the only way I could train for light spor...

Re: Remos GX

We have a Remos GX with just over 400 hours and though we like many things about it, the Remos support staff have been less than responsive to warranty issues and have made ownership very unpleasant. We have two PiperSports and a Cessna and have had none of the issues exerienced with the Remos. The...

If you can get a leaseback you'll only need about $20k to start. We did it with less....of course you're the last one to get paid if there is any money left so don't plan on taking a pay check until the business is cashflow positive. What are the start up and monthly costs involved in starting a sch...

I've flown one....503 powered, stock, no doors, BRS equipped. It flew much better than you described. In fact it is probably the 3rd most fun plane I've flown....behind a J3 cub and T-28 trojan. Not knowing a whole lot about the airframe, I would suggest flying a few others as this one sounds like i...

What would be the advantages of a fuel-injected Rotax?

Thanks,

Fuel distribution would be a little more even between cylinders for one....
