New GI Bill Allowing Sport Training?

It appears the revisions to the GI Bill would allow part time flight training, any one have any info on whether or not this would be applicable to sport or private pilot training? If you read the revisions http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/2/s3447 it appears it would open the door for such training.

It's a new company that just started selling HD cameras, it is the only system we have found that you can plug your headset right into. Records in up to 1080P resolution. Its so new it isn't listed anywhere yet, we were one of the "test runs" and I couldn't be happier with the system. It r...

New Videos

Hey guys, just got finished setting up our camera system and we made a few quick videos. Let me know what you think, we used a Challenger II, Gobosh, and Remos G3 for the videos. You can increase the quality up to 720P. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-pmISkWLx8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thYSu-...

We offer a two week program though students need to study ahead of time to get the most out of it. We have also graduated several students in 3 week programs, which I prefer because students tend to enjoy it more. Accelerated programs do work, as our students are consistently finishing with fewer ho...

$7500 is way too high. We started a school with a Remos for $6500 a year and we are $1000 higher than another startup I know with the same plane, because my broker neglected to go to AIG so I got stuck with a specialty market that was more expensive. As of 6 months ago, AIG was writing insurance for...

Unless the policy says so, I don't think it would be a problem. To be safe I would have your insurance agent "carefully" check with the underwiters, because some will probably have fine print about that, while others may not.

If they don't extend it then it is my understanding that you will not be able to use an E-LSA no matter when it is built (someone correct me if i'm wrong). I understand that many new S-LSAs are over 100k, but CFIs also have the option of buying an Ercoupe or similar certified plane for much less tha...

Google the Icon A5. A version of that with a better useful load would be ideal, and I hope that's where the design of Light Sport Aircraft is going. I'm also a fan of the SeaMax if you're talking amphibious aircraft. My email is below for your survey/spreadsheet.

Not to mention the cost of certificated avionics. Try comparing the cost of a Dynon D100/D120 in an LSA vs whatever equivalent certificated glass panel instruments. For some Sport planes it is actually cheaper to order glass panels than "steam gauges" because there is less labor used for ...

Ercoupes aren't going to cost much to insure, they have a low hull value, are very safe from an underwriter's perspective, and have been around for some time so parts are available. The only negative is obviously the age of the airframe, as some insurance companies won't insure airplanes that old. I...

First off, DON'T just have your students get renter's insurance. Typically, when flight schools ask students to do this, there are two reasons. One, they want their deductible covered should the student damage the plane, or two, they aren't carrying the proper insurance on their airplane and want yo...

Re: Super Cub

You are correct. The legal useful is low compared to other SLSA's. However, if you adopt the Alaska Bush Pilot attitude (if it will fit and fly -go) then everything changes. No ramp checks at my strip. The 8.3 G wing loading tests are impressive as well. I don't know of any other LSA that tests tha...

Re: Which insurance is better?

EAA or AOPA for renters? Eaa and AOPA aren't insurance companies, they're brokers. They probably both provide renter's insurance through AIG, so in all likelihood the prices are the same. Pilot experience is irrelevant, there are set rates for renter's insurance, and you don't have to go through AO...
