Roger, Thank for the internet diagnosis! I'll run this by the mechanic today and see if he can find anything along those lines. The engine seems to run ok at the higher rpm. It may be a little rougher than it was before the carbs were rebuilt. The biggest issue is that the idle speed is never consis...

Rotax 912 ULS - Carb and Idle issues....

We run the plane fo...

I haven't been able to fly since that evening. :? The weather was bad all weekend in Columbus. Its supposed to clear up today but the winds may be beyond my limits. Hopefully there will be a day or two this week that I can fly.

Soloed Last Night...

... Well I finally got my second first solo in last night. My first solo flight was in 1987 in a Cessna 150. Last night the flight was in my SportStar. My solo flight came a little late, right around 25 hours. We had a difficult time getting in some crosswind landing time. For a while here the weath...

I guess I've really lucked out with my instructor. He is a young guy, early 20's, great teacher, excellent pilot and with all the time crammed in a LSA together I can also call him a friend. He is very patient, supportive and provides a lot of good constructive criticism. He lets you experiment with...

If you have an iPhone there are a couple of apps for quizzing you. I think they are by prep ware. There may be one by ASA.

I took a test flight in a SportStar this weekend and it has a glass cockpit. Initially I was overwhelmed with the information being stuffed all in one space. But as the time went on I was getting use to where to look to get the information I needed. To me it seemed like knowing which area of the scr...

I started my private pilot license in 1987 but ran out of money and had to head off to college. I have always wanted to finish what I started so I kept up on aviation news and knew about it not long after is was official. I never really considered going the Sport Pilot route until I checked in on so...
