Re: Dual cross country flight with a $100 hamburger!!!

Hi N918KT-
Glad to hear you are progressing. I am getting ready for my check ride and AF/D is something I am concentrating on. Per the AF/D "TOUCH AND GO LNDGS PROHIBITED." at KDYL. Did your instructor go over the AF/D for the airports you would be flying to on your XC?
Thanks -Joe

Re: Why Sport Pilot

Thanks Paul-
I am still thinking it over. My new plan is to look for a "local" LSA and CFI, discuss training and fly the LSA. Do you have any recommendations for someone in Bucks Co?

Re: Why Sport Pilot

psjoe, I think you need to answer your own question. What were your initial motivations for flight training and are they still valid for you? If so, carry on... Theoretically, the training & licensing options (SPL, RPL, PPL) should work somewhat like a buffet. Decide which course appeals (for t...

Re: Why Sport Pilot

Thanks Paul- Do you ever get over to KDYL? If you do let me know I would love to go up with you. To continue the RP discussion it seems like a good fit as it affords me the opportunity to fly a greater range of older less expensive aircraft. For example, I can fly the schools 172s once I get checked...

Re: Why Sport Pilot

Thanks guys.

Still no decision. RP or SP? I have only managed to get up in the 152 once since my last post, and it was a brief 1/2 hour solo in the pattern. The two other days I reserved 152 it was too windy and then down for maint.

Re: Why Sport Pilot

For me getting my sport pilot over ppl was my current needs. I fly for recreation. Yes most flights are within 20 miles but I have done 100 mile round trip adventures. I like the ability to share the experience with friends and family. However, I don't want to load my whole family in an airplane wi...

Hourly cost for LSA on the rise

A local school in central NJ just raised the hourly price for it's LSA rental to $125. Is this a trend across the country? I started training locally, so far 3 hrs., in a C-152 which is $80/Hr. wet. Another difference is that the school woith the C-152 is $35/hr for cfi vs $45/hr at above mentioned ...

FYI:

A CFII friend told me Moyer got in a skycatcher about two weeks ago. I gave them a ring and it's on-line $109 wet.

thanks

Thanks, great info. I am only 2 hours into it, so far in a 152. The school has a few 172s, a 152, a few Pipers, and the Diamond. No LSA, but using the SP syllabus. I was thinking of the Diamond as it as a stick, like most LSA, as opposed to the 152s yoke. I was planning on doing 5 or so hours at thi...

Just picked up the Gleim Pilot Handbook

I just picked up the Gleim Pilot Handbook. I am going to dig into it in the next day or two. Few Questions: -What should I concentrate on for Sport Pilot? -Should I get the Sport Pilot Flight Maneuvers and Practical Test Prep, 1st Ed, the Sport Pilot Syllabus, 2nd Ed., and FAR/AIM ? Thanks -Joe

Went to Royal Karina Air Service-and went up!

N918KT you are correct, Royal Karina Air Service http://www.ireallywanttofly.com/ and American AeroSports http://www.americanaerosports.com/ are same company. I paid them a visit yesterday and went for a quick flight in the Storm, pictured on the American AeroSports page ;-) The visit was great. RK ...
