I don't know about other Cessna schools, but the school in New Orleans requires the physical before your first in airplane lesson. In other words, you don't fly unless you have the 3rd Class Physical, PP or Sport.

Really good stuff! I wish more pilots would post their cross country experiences. We non-pilots really enjoy it!!

The latest tally is 108 sponsors. It's getting better! I've sent at least 2 emails to my House and Senate people.

Re: New Senate legislation would expand medical exemption
As of this week, there are 93 House members and 10 Senators signed on as co-sponsors. I noted that NONE of my legislative people have signed on, so I sent them an email which is the second email about this important topic. And one of them is a member of the GA Caucus. David How bipartisan is...

Gorgeous airplane, a bit spendy, but you certainly get a nice airplane. And that sliding canopy is just way cool!!

Cockpit backup avionics...
I read an article by Robert Goyer in the latest Flying Magazine about emergencies during the cruise phase. It was interesting and prompted this non-pilot to think about a situation where the radios and/or avionics go haywire, especially with the glass panel equipped airplanes. So...what do you guys ...

Re: Six seats, under 6000lb, day/night VFR on driver's licen
I suspect that if congress forces FAA's hand by passing this, FAA will comply, but in the most restrictive way they can get away with. So, let's hope the legislation is very clearly (and generously) worded. I was thinking about this. One way that the FAA can slow down the end process is in the deve...

It doesn't change the fact that operational costs of the LSA class is very attractive. With the advent of the FI Rotax and it sipping around 4gph at cruise is sure inviting!!drseti wrote:You're probably right, FFF. Demand is driven as much by operating costs as it is by purchase price.

The Bill is pretty short. Salient section: (a) IN GENERAL.—Not later than 180 days after the 4 date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the 5 Federal Aviation Administration shall issue or revise med- 6 ical certification regulations to ensure that an individual 7 may operate as pilot in...

I wonder if you asked nicely if you could get the fuel injected engine? More money but a little better fuel consumption and no carb adjustments.
