Re: Why not a Motor Glider?
Thanks John, good stuff there. My friend has a Pipistrel, it's very nice but way outside my budget. Going to continue training in an Aeronca Champ and buy something next summer; can't say if it's LSA or motoglider at this point. Thanks for the help, Dan Just buy a Champ... they glide great if you k...

Re: Jabiru J-230?
From what I have read about Jabiru, they redesigned the engines in 2014 or 2015 and the overheating issues have been cleared up. They are also a much stronger engine as far as usable power now compared to the older engines. that is encouraging, my experiences with the 3300 model I discussed in an e...

Re: Why not a Motor Glider?
The Xenos can either be flown as a Sport Pilot/LSA, or it can be flown by pilots that hold a glider rating with a self-launch glider endorsement. http://www.sonexaircraft.com/aircraft/xenos.html these guys have 6 LSA models with glide ratios up to 40:1 http://www.pipistrel-usa.com/ This topic was co...

Re: Fun T-Shirt
I should have asked the guy I saw wearing it at sun-n-fun where he got it
I suspect he had it custom made as I have not seen it anywhere and a google search finds nothing
if you can make it, put me down for one

Re: Fun T-Shirt
saw this on a shirt someone was wearing at sun-n-fun last week
I can't find it anywhere online as a shirt, just this jpg in an avid flyer forum, I'm guessing he had the shirt made custom from a jpg
the front said "REAL MEN FLY TAILDRAGGERS" the jpg was on the back

Re: TL3000 Sirius vs Tecnam P2008
I was aware that SLSA was not possible but I was under the impression that E-AB or maybe even ELSA would be doable exhibition would be very limiting the AOPA gives the impression that this is almost routine.... I guess maybe it is for certified planes, many years ago I knew a guy who brought a Cessn...

Re: TL3000 Sirius vs Tecnam P2008
BTW, the plane he is trying to sell on Barnstormers cant be imported to the US as it has been registered in another country. FAA rule. please check you source for this statement.... Importing is a pain in the a** but not illegal, in fact it is very common, so common that the AOPA has a great articl...
