I got my SP certificate at 40 hrs...at 50 yrs old, starting with zero time. I could have done it with about 10 fewer hrs but flew while waiting for DPE availability. I had the written out of the way prior to starting flight training. I, like others, had to travel much further than I wanted to in ord...

Since sport plane rentals are hard to find in the area, this gives me significantly more options until I decide to buy. also, due to the limited useful loads and wanting to carry at least one additional passenger (maybe more), this is a better option. I didn't have any issue with medical...just wasn...

Sport to PPL Requiremetns

Just wanted to confirm...Cross Country time as a Sport Pilot count towards the 5 hrs of Solo Cross Country flying required for PPL Certificate??? I have nearly 40 hrs of Cross Country as a Sport Pilot. I still have to do the 150nm between 3 points w/ one over 50nm.

Did you ever find a CFI-S in the Houston area? I recently completed my SP training and successfully got my SP ticket...currently have 65 hours. Let me know if you are interested in making contact with the instructor I used. However, you are right, not too may CFI-S and LSA's available for rental. I ...
