Re: Sell her, or install a new donk!

I will be my engineer in a week or two to do the annual, and I will ask what options I have.

Cheers
John.

Thanks guys,

@drseti - I won't be able to make that Webinar sadly. Are you able to elaborate a little?

Cheers

Sell her, or install a new donk!

Hey all, So my Sportstar will come to it's age of 15 years in about 3 years, and the Rotax 912 ULS has a TBO of 15 years. So it raises the question - To sell, or to install a new motor. The entire aircraft has only done 250 hours (had 160 on it when I picked her up) so the airframe is in very good c...

Re: LOA Survey for EVERYONE

1. LSA manufacturer Evektor (Sportstar Max) 2. Average wait time for LOA Pretty quick once we settled on what we were doing. 3. Was there a fee? (yes, I've heard some charge a fee) Yes 50 Euros!! 4. Does your manufacturer have an AEL? (approved equipment list where a LOA is not required) Not that I...

Re: Dashware or the like

Finally I have given up on Dashware. RaceRender solved my issues and is actually really good!

Farewell Dashware. LOL!

Re: Dashware or the like

Just an update for those watching at home - Not even the guys at GoPro can assist with my issues. How good is that! NOT! :(

Haven't managed to get to my bird for the data on the Garmin yet - hopefully this week.

Re: Dashware or the like

Thanks for that.

I have just learnt that my Garmin Aera500 mounted on the dash of my bird records data when I fly! So that may be my answer. :)

I will keep you posted.

Re: Dashware or the like

Thanks!

Do you know if there is the option to plug it into the intercom like I do with my GoPro?

Dashware or the like

Hi Guys, Does anyone here use Dashware or similar to get a gauge overlay on your videos etc? I have been trying to use Dashware with a GoPro 5 Black, but I simply can not get it to work. The files work in QUIK, but when I try with Dashware it states no data. So I am wondering what others use to capt...

Re: Sportstar Owners - A place to hang out!

Hi jfleming, It certainly can be a pain trying to navigate the rules and regs as everyone seems to interpret them slightly different. I think the government wants it that way. Sounds like you seem to have it worked out, good for you. I do have a question for you, can I ask how long it too...

Re: Sportstar Owners - A place to hang out!

Sounds like you guys have similar issues to us. For example, I am about to fit a new RPM gauge to my Sporty. Mine has the RPM and the MAP right over on the right side - in front of the Pax. Trouble is, I have an inflight adjustable prop, and so RPM becomes something I need to keep an eye on. SO... i...

Re: Carb Heat in cold weather

I was taught to fly in my Sportstar that has a ROTAX 912ULS. We were always trained to look out for carb ice. Check the Carb Heater on run up etc etc. However, we were also told that it can be somewhat rare in the 912ULS due to the location of the carbs. That said, I will pull Carb Heat on when desc...
