https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2020/april/22/aopa-announces-access-to-new-flight-planner This morning I set it up with my info and played with it; I'm pretty impressed. AOPA has announced that a replacement flight planning tool will become available on Wednesday, April 22. While worki...

Re: Partnership in Jacksonville, FL

Hello, I am looking for people to start or join a partnership in Jacksonville, FL. I was in a 172 partnership in NYC but we just moved here and I want to keep flying. I am very flexible so hit me with anything :-) Thanks, Bluesky Have you tried checking out bulletin boards for partners wanted at Cr...

Re: Breakdown Assistance

That's great news, Paul! Congratulations to both you and Mike on what sounds like a great partnership. I've known Mike for decades through Cessna Pilots Association and SMXgig in Santa Maria. He also consulted with us at Visa International in San Mateo before I retired. Mike is a good guy.

Re: KCNO is My Neighbor

I lost my medical a bunch of years ago Welcome aboard! The above comment jumped out at me. Whether exercising Sport Pilot privileges is an option for you will depend on what you mean by “lost my medical”. If you simply let it lapse, you’re good-to-go. If the medical was denied, suspended, revoked, ...

Re: KCNO is My Neighbor

Hi Chris, and welcome. I flew my LSA out of Oakland (KOAK), a Class C airport inside the SFO Class B veil for years before moving to Santa Rosa. I had a special issuance 3rd class medical, but let it lapse in 2006 because the renewal requirements were an expensive hassle. I began flying LSAs exercis...

Re: The Corona Virus is putting a dent on my meet ups.

I had a text late last night from a good friend in Palm Springs that a mutual friend, a retired Continental Airlines captain, has been hospitalized in Desert Regional Medical Center for the past week with Covid-19 infection. He's in ICU and on a ventilator. They have him in an induced coma, and acco...

Assuming you didn't get your private certificate before your hiatus, I suspect once you get your sport pilot certificate and successfully complete several cross-country solo flights, your wife will come around.

Re: Aerotrek A220 and A240. What do you think?

Out of those I'd choose the rans, faster, more load, but you'd need to build it. Check out S-21 "Outbound" with the Titan 340. Can build as a trike or taildragger. Bill, since the OP says he's in the market for an LSA and the Titan 340 powered S-21 Outbound has an empty weight of 985 poun...

Re: Who Else Has Left Bad "Stuff" Inside Their Cowlings?

Years ago my CFI and I decided to combine an overnight trip in my C172 from Oakland (KOAK) to Shelter Cove (0Q5) with a flight review. My CFI was a retired UAL 747-400 captain and a neighbor when I lived in San Francisco. During my preflight, I removed the oil filler cap and placed it on top of the ...

Close, Paul. It's Sedona AZ (SEZ). I love Page/Lake Powell, too.

One of my buddies is pretty good with Photoshop. Sadly Jason, my golden retriever, gets motion sick.
