Sport vs Private

I would caution any of you to consider carefully which license you are going for. If you are planning to take the Sport Pilot checkride, you'll have to have passed the Sport Pilot written exam. You cannot take a Private Pilot written and have it count towards your Sport Pilot license. The rules are ...

LSA Northern California

You could always come over to Tracy and train in a Skylark. No airspace to deal with, almost always clear weather, great plane with cheap rates!

Thanks for the Pirep. I'm scheduled for their 3 week class in May. I was supposed to go to the class this fall, but it conflicted with the AOPA Expo and I can't be in two places at once.

The official Answer

The only official answer is the one that your local FSDO gives you, since they're the ones who will ultimately accept or reject your training experience.
Call your local FSDO and ask them; get the name and title of the person who gives you the answer, in case it comes up again.

Original Question

I think the original question was: "Sport pilots must always have a minimum of 3 miles of visibility in any airspace (no special VFR) and are not allowed to fly over clouds without visual ground reference". Is this also true for Private Pilots flying as Sport Pilots? The answer is YES. A P...

Skylark LSA - Usefule Load 670#

We are a dealer for the Skylark LSA and the Breezer LSA, both of which have more useful load than any other LSAs I've been able to find. The Skylark has an empty weight of 648#, holds 24 gals fuel, and has a gross of 1320. This leaves a full-fuel payload of 528#. http://www.skyviewaviation.com/asse...
