Yes. My father died suddenly when I was still too young and stupid to appreciate his accomplishments. Now that I'm older, and hopefully wiser, I can think of thousands of questions I wished I had asked him, mostly about his service with the US Army 5th Air Force in the Pacific during WWII. He soloed in a J3 Cub, and went on to be an A/P tech SGT on Allison and Pratt & Whitney engines (P38, P39,P40, B24, B25).drseti wrote:Any dad has to accept the reality that at some point in their teenage years, your kids will think you were a miserable jerk. Relax - they'll get over it! Meanwhile, spend whatever time you can with them, whether it's flying, or some activity they enjoy. Trust me, they grow up REALLY fast.
Couldn't agree more on your 1st point. (I assume you meant "haven't been much of a participant") PS - congrats on your new cert and plane!saxdiva wrote:Hate to pile on, but the fact that so many threads consist of disjointed discussions and strings of deleted posts is the main reason I've been much of a participant here. I wish that were different, but honestly... it makes this forum too frustrating to read.
Oh, BTW, finished my SP cert and bought an airplane in the meantime, so it's not like there's been nothing to talk about.
And... posts like that are another reason people are likely to stay away.eyeflygps wrote:Get over it. This is old news and an old thread.
