Re: LSA TL-3000 Sirus
Would you happen to know the status of the TL-3000? The webpage says that more flight tests are happening but I don't know when the video was made. They also offer a way of placing orders, which always leaves me wondering how anyone talks someone else into making a six-figure commitment for a product that may be barely off the drawing board.Murrell wrote:http://tl-ultralight.cz/en/ultralight-a ... ogallery/2

Thanks for any additional info you may be able to pass along. It's a nice looking aircraft and I'd love to know whether to include it in the running.

I can't ask for better than that! Thanks for all the follow-up, guys. Meanwhile, Jake (or anyone else), to begin at a very preliminary level here, what are your thoughts as to pros and cons of the Siriua when compared, say, to the CT's?jake wrote:Chrisw or anyone,
Any questions ask away. I know a fair amount about the plane.

Chrisw,
For me the reason I chose the sirius over the Ct...
1. The sirius is a physically larger plane. Wider wings, longer larger body.
No skinny tail section. Engine placement is more traditional.
2. I personally like the look of the sirius better. Maybe because of the
traditional shape.
3. I like my legs bent at the knee instead of strait out. More comfortable to me.
4. Easier cabin entry. More substantial seats.
5. Supposedly quieter cabin. Actual door latches.
6. Larger wheels/tires. I plan to fly off grass a lot.
7. Bill Canino at sportairusa seems to be a good trustworthy man. Said if I didnt like the plane he would return my money. Cant beat that.
I know there are plenty of advantages of the ct also. Just stating my reasons for the sirius. I talked to the ct guys and they were very good also.

Chris,
The first two planes will be in little rock mar 20 till april 1 at least. Then delivered to MN and FL. I believe Bill has more sold for april delivery but I dont know where to.
Im sure you could get a demo at Little Rock before we take delivery otherwise it will likely be sun and fun or osh kosh. I dont think Bill will have a demo plane till he gets his sold orders filled.

So there are only two UL-3000 Sirius' in the US so far? Looks like I'm going to have to wait til Oshkosh to fly one. Hopefully they're planning to show up there.jake wrote:Chris,

Thanks Jake.

For those interested, you'll be able to test fly a Sirius out of Little Rock from around March 30 - April 10. I believe there will be one at Sun-n-Fun to check out but no demo rides will be available (demo plane is sold). More should be hitting the US each month.
Sorry, Chris -- don't know of demo flight opportunities on either coast.
