Didn't want to hijack David's thread, but yeah; it's winter!

New Year's Day was out due to snow and the runways weren't plowed so some of us got together yesterday. Slightly overcast, 35 degrees with no wind and no lift. We got towed to 3,000 feet for a sled ride back down. No lift but saw some occasional zero sink; took 20 - 30 minutes to get down.

It was short but more fun than vegging out in front of a TV.

Winter has arrived in Mammoth Lakes, CA. We are getting 20-30' of snow this week

Its a 3 storm series, the first one snowed about 7' here and Sunday's looks to be twice as much moisture and likely rain. It looks disastrous!

The 'fetch' goes all the way to the Hawaiian Islands at the moment, that means rain, measured in inches might wipe out most of the ski resorts in California. For my town it could go either way and for the ski area here its to high to get rained away.

So its iffy, forecast for Sunday in this area is for 15" of rain or the snow equivalent which is about 15feet.

A few years ago in the middle of the great California Drought Mammoth Mountain got 70feet of snowfall.

Ten feet in a week is about the max we can handle, this series looks like too much to me.
