Lay offs

Post by joey4420 »

So, the company I work for had another lay off this week. Sad for my manager and a coworker, but they are now looking for a new job. I was in their shoes barely 2 years ago.

So today talking with my new manager, the topic of travel came up and I mention I prefer not to travel on weekends because I am taking flying lessons and he told me he is a pilot with 9000+ hours in his log books. Started flying before he was driving. Instant mutual conversation to make a bad situation seem a wee bit better. He even mentioned his wing man (from Vietnam) just retired as a senior check pilot for 757/747 for a large airline.

Not pleasant to work with that sort of a cloud over you.

But at least you found a fellow aviator!
