MP4 to DVD

Post by JJ Campbell »

I've tried several different ways to make a DVD containing the MP4 video(s) from my Hero 8 Black including purchasing Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning 2. Roxio won't do it at all and Windows Explorer drag and drop has terrible resolution, is choppy and is not recognized as a DVD. LOL, I tried a third way and can't remember what it was but it too had terrible resolution. My test MP4 is about 9 minutes long and 3 GB while the size on disc is less than 1 GB which probably explains the poor resolution.

Since I want to mail some videos to friends, I want them to automatically open their DVD player and start playing the video. Not all of them are tech savvy so simple is the goal.

The easiest way would be to leave the files as MP4 but copy them to a DVD. Then they can simply pop the DVD into their computer and watch the MP4 files via the "Movies & TV" app on their windows 10 pc. Simply right mouse click on the MP4 file on the DVD and select "open with" and then select "Movies & TV" and it'll start playing on the PC. Just my 2¢.

9 minutes long and 3 GB sounds like it is lossless. You want to encode it so it is smaller or it will be difficult for anyone to use.
