Slow flight...

Finally, a place for sport pilot instructors and/or wannabees to talk about instructing.

Slow flight...

Post by RyanShort1 »

So we were in the LSA yesterday and had up to 40 KTs of headwind. Perfect day for slow flight, eh!

I wasn't paying enough attention to know. I just glanced over and thought it would be cool to shoot that.

It's really neat to look out the window and see the snails passing you. Of course, slow flight into a 40 knot headwind is flown no differently from doing so with a 40 knot tailwind - it's all about pitch angle and airspeed and the controls going mushy on you - which is, of course, totally independent of Wind or ground speed.

Still, what fun!
