I have no experience with electronic CO detectors. Here's the easy $5 solution many of us use. Note that it only works if you include the dot in your panel visual scan.

Re: CO Detector
I have tested the $5 solution and wasn't impressed ... it takes a lot of CO for it to start changing colors and it is hard to notice in the first place . I went with the Forensics unit reviewed in the first video posted by ShawnM last year and it has been working great.drseti wrote:I have no experience with electronic CO detectors. Re: CO Detector
I've heard the same thing, by the time you notice it even in your scan it could be too late. Maybe it's better than nothing.Warmi wrote:I have tested the $5 solution and wasn't impressed ... it takes a lot of CO for it to start changing colors and it is hard to notice in the first place . Re: CO Detector
My test was basically holding both of these devices in front of a car exhaust and waiting for activation - both do work so I guess it is better than nothing but I would probably be dead before I noticed the $5 dollar one - especially in a wide 360 degrees canopy plane like mine.

I just watched both videos, and I'm sold! I'm ordering a digital CO detector today. Thank you, Shawn and Warmi.
