Cessna Skycatcher Prototype Crashes

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Here's some other info.

Taken from aero-news.net

Looks like they were doing "full power cross control spins"'

after recovery failed the pilot deployed the BRS. (explains the sparks seen by witnesses)

That failed so he bailed out using his own chute.

The airplane was a non conforming prototype. The P1 conforming prototype will take it's place in the test program.

sounds like a wild ride.
