Flight Design's Hybrid Engine

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

I wuz under the impression that the 914 developed 115hp not 130hp .Maybe they cranked up the boost for the turbo .
Opinions are like armpits everybody has a couple & they usually stink .

You can see a picture of the engine on the AOPA site. Slide 6 of the Aero show pictures. You can clearly see the electric motor.

Between the electric motor and batteries I wonder how much weight it will add? Maybe it's not meant for the LSA market.

That's gonna be one heavy sucker with the 50 pounds plus of batts, motor, and controller. Maybe we can get an LSA gross weight increase for "hybrids." LOL

Seems to be a lot of extra complexity and crap for little benefit....
