Long Island NY is pretty far from Mass-NH but I see others suggesting schools even further away.
Check out http://midislandair.com/index.html (KHWV http://www.airnav.com/airport/KHWV ).
They have two Light Sport Instructors on staff. They use a Tecnam Sierra and Eaglet for instruction. They also rent an Evektor SportStar. They are pretty booked on weekends. They always try to get me to schedule during the week which is always open. You might be able to book a week, but check on the weather.
They also have a few LSAs for sale. Apparently they tried CT, CZAW, Evektor and Tecnam. They settled on Tecnam and are the NE dealer. They are selling their CT and CZAW Sport Cruiser.
I have a home on LI but work in the Philly area. The local airport (KLOM) had a KP5, but they sold it and the Sport Instructor is no longer there. I can drive 60 miles to Allentown, PA to fly a SportStar.
Of course I’m sure you see CSP http://www.chesapeakesportpilot.com/ all over this forum and on the web. They are also a Tecnam Dealer for the Mid Atlantic region. I have no first hand experience with them, but may make a trip down their sometime soon, they seem pretty active. Besides you'll get the experience of flying by the SFRA, no tougher airspace. CSP rates are better than Mid Island (MIAS). MIAS adds an insurance surcharge.
BTW no matter what school you go to, ask about insurance. Once you solo and are PIC you are responsible for any deductables. MIAS has a $10,000 deductable. Get renters insurance from AOPA or EAA if you are a member, otherwise go direct to Falcon Insurance.
Good Luck, I understand the frustration.
