A Sport Pilot cannot fly a Cessna 152 like a PPL can, but yet some of the LSAs on the market are faster, have a better climb rate and use less fuel. Why would one be ashamed of being a Sport Pilot?

Thank you so much for all your input and ideas. After reading your suggestions, and doing some more homework, I think I have decided to go with the AvMap EK IV. They all are nice units but I think I like the look, feel and function of the AvMap.

Thanks again for all your help.

Just thought I would give a quick update as I am excited and have to share. I PASSED the written and can put the nervousness behind me and focus on the practical now. The Gleim products definitely help and the ability to take practice exams with the CD puts you more at ease once the time comes. That...

GPS Units

Given the vast knowledge of the experienced pilots here I wanted to get everyones input and thoughts on a couple of portable GPS units I have been looking into. My favorite is the Samsung Q1 loaded with Anywhere Maps. This is a full featured windows based tablet PC with moving map technology. I have...

After having an opportunity to pilot the Sigma I am here to deliver my review and opinions of the oddly shaped machine. Understanding that opinions may vary, this is just my observation of "the egg". 1) Definitely odd shaped that puts you as close to the ground as you care to be. Being 5&q...

For those of us training in Winter Haven it appears we will get our chance to experience "the egg" firsthand. The Aerostar 1 I have been training in has been sold and the other LSA online is the Sigma. I have not had the opportunity to fly the Sigma yet but will get my first chance this we...

Congratulation Kevin!!!

I have the same study materials as you (Gleim Sport Pilot Kit) and would agree they are great. I think I will take my test next week and get the anticipation over and done with.

Congrats again on a job well done.

I attended Sun and Fun this year but waited till the last day. I had the opportunity to see many of the new lines but I am sure I missed out on some by waiting till Sunday. I will definitely be at the Expo in 2010.

It is not a bad looking plane and I look forward to giving it a try, but I am looking to possibly purchase a used AMD ZODIAC CH601 XL or close. I like the looks of the Zodiac but need to take a spin and see if I like the ride.

I am currently training with Tailwheels Etc. on Gilbert Field in Winter Haven. To date I have done my training on an Aerostar Festival. I have had the opportunity to sit in the Sigma, but have yet to fly her. My understanding of the "egg" is that it is a fun machine to fly with a tremendou...

Another Winter Haven Newbie

WHAT AN EXCITING TIME! Flying is something I have always wanted to learn but for one reason or another have always put other things ahead of this desire. Don't know if it was the time thing or the money thing, but no longer will this desire go unanswered. I recently enrolled and began my journey wit...
