Re: Just bought one!

Are you sure that the VG's are all that are needed to get to 1320#? That, and replacing the wheelbarrow tire on the nosewheel with a full-sized aircraft tire, plus updating the placards, POH, and wt/bal sheet. Does Evektor approve of this mod to the Plus model? LSA's need to have the manufacturer's...

Just bought one!

I just bought a SportStar Plus last week for use in my new LSA flight school, AvSport of Lock Haven ( http://AvSport.org ). Haven't even taken delivery yet, as I'm having the vortex generator mod installed to up the max gross to the 1320 pound S-LSA limit, and upgrading the nav/com to a Garmin SL-30...

$7500 is way too high. I thought so, too (though that's the second quote my agent got me -- the first one was higher!) my broker neglected to go to AIG so I got stuck with a specialty market that was more expensive. I've just forwarded your post to my agent, with a request that he check AIG. Thanks...

Re: LSCFI insurance

I am having trouble finding an insurance company willing to write commercial insurance for a flight instructor with one airplane Randy, I am in the process of setting up a one plane, one instructor flight school, and I ran into the same thing. My regular acft insurance broker shopped the market and...

Re: Subpart K Flight Instructor with Sport Pilot Rating

I wonder if those CFI-SPs (to use the FAA example) will be seen as "second class citizens" in the instructor world. They already are. Consider that a Sport Pilot can use his or her hours of training toward higher ratings only if the instruction was given by a CFI. So, we already have full...

Will you have a mechanic for annuals and rotax work? I plan to take the Rotax service course from Phil Lockwood (probably the country's leading Rotax expert), but mainly for my own enlightenment. I am neither an A&P nor an IA, so can't do annuals. However, my mechanic will also be learning the ...
