No grey area here. Your rating is airplane single engine land. To fly a tail wheel airplane you must have additional training. For a flight review you must have training (at least 1 hour). If the instructor thinks the training for the tail wheel endorsement is enough for the Flight review he can sig...

Re: CFR

Normally a tailwheel endorsement is done by an instructor. I didn't see instructor listed in (d). I would suggest that you talk to who ever is going to do the tailwheel endorsement and ask them if they would consider it to cover the the flight review covered by 61.56. Tom I looked up the regulations...

You mean in the traffic pattern?
You should know the calls that would be needed to fly in the area you are flying if you had a radio.

The SB will say who can do it, and if a modification is required the SB is your manufactures authorization to do it. Tom

I think some spin testing is required under ASTM standards. This may not be as extensive as CFR part 23. Tom

The swick conversion has been around a long time. The new owners bought the design from Mike Swick the designer. I have not flown a Swick conversion, but have flown an other Clip-t conversion and it is fun. The people that I have talked to who have flown a Swick give it high praise saying it is one ...

Remember if operating as a sport pilot there is NO special VFR. I know you fly other aircraft as well. I think Special VFR is just that VFR, and not light IMC. Tom I hope the wording is such so as to still allow Special VFR. IOW, when the visibility in Class D airspace is below 3 miles and or the ce...

The word coming from the ASTM meetings is that they are going to require a placard for all light sport aircraft to say "Flight in IMC Prohibitted". At present there are no ASTM standards for IFR certification of a light sport aircraft, so the manufactures have no standards to build the air...

The way I understand it the IFR prohibitted is a stop gap to keep the FAA from doing it for us. They are still working on the standards. An old LSA if brought up to the current standards should be OK I would think.

Good job getting it down safe.

It is easy to miss something when you get out of sequence. I teach all my students to use the checklist from day one, and always in the order it is written. Tom

The 120kts for the regulations is maximum level flight speed at sea level under standard conditions. If the airplane can achieve a higher true airspeed at altitude that is OK. Tom
