Re: Affordable ADS-B out
I have a ADS-B Raspberry PI setup at my home. The most interesting thing I notice is all the planes that are out there sending transponder data, but no location data. Even if I had my setup running in the plane, I would only track location for about 1/4 what is out there. Not much help if its a part...

Re: Just how much of the written did you actually learn?
I studied very hard and was frustrated at my results. Thought I had it aced and basically got a b-. Totally freaked when I had no idea of the answers to the first 3 questions. things settled down from there. I took the sport Pilot test and I think some things from the Private Pilot were in there, st...

Re: Cost Of Ownership
One other note on renting, We don't all fly 152 and 172's which was the norm 10 years ago. I was going on a trip and saw that a close airport had a LSA for rental and though it might be fun to take it out and check out some new scenery. The FBO stated I would need 5 hours of checkout time in THAT pl...

Re: Cost Of Ownership
I have to agree with Deltafox. When I first got my Sport ticket, I rented and it was a pain. You are under strict timelines, weather issues, rental conflicts, etc. If you had a rental plane 15 minutes away and you knew you always had an opening, it might be a fair comparison. I was able to purchase ...

Ads-b out for sport planes
So i was looking at upgrading my gps, but this whole ads thing throws a wrench into things. I have a transponder in my plane, so i assume overall that makes me more visable in general even though i dont ever fly in b or c airspace. With the huge costs to implement a comparable (and legal) system to ...

Re: Your Callsign--How do you announce yourself?
I used Remos 474SW the last time I used Flight following in Central Wisconsin, no questions from ATC. I lso land at OSH but they have a couple Remos airplanes based there so they are probably famliar with them.

Re: *DO IT* Changing rubber hoses $2058 every 5 years
I just did my Remos rubber replacement, my mehcanic used standard in stock parts for some items, I assisted and it took 2.5 days, costs below not including my time. I think it will go quicker next time... Sun, Apr 1 2012 5 year Rubber Replacement April 1 2012 Maintenance -$1,470.46 Edit Sun, Apr 1 2...

Flydat Reset
Does anyone have any info on providing a factory reset on the flydat units? Since I have my plane running nice and in spec I would like to more actively monitor the data alerts, I would be willing to pay shipping if there is some device needed.
Thanks

When I switched on my power fuel pump everything went back to normal. I also h...
