FBO Rental/Club Insurance Requires Medical
Hey guys. Back online after several very busy months. Question: Is it reasonable for an FBO that rents LSA's (Skycatcher), or a club to not do business with SP-ASEL's who fly with their drivers license? Background: there's a Skycatcher right over there (nice and close). It just sits at the FBO. When...

Re: Flying Again Instead of Taxi
Full stop only required for tail wheel. 61.57(a)(1)(ii)
It would seem I don't need to stop.
Also, there's no definition of landing in 1.1 that requires a trip around the pattern.

Re: Flying Again Instead of Taxi
An instructor and I requested the option at a Delta, and landed three times on a 6000 ft runway. ATC told us they had one hand on the phone.
I found it to be excellent low altitude, low speed training.

Flight School Finder and Rental Map
Just a thought... I travel a bit. The Sport Pilot Talk Flight School and Rental Finder Map at the top of every page on this site, is an excellent resource. I have sent a few updates along to the moderators. If anyone knows of any changes required: listed businesses that no longer have LSA's; recentl...

Thanks Rich. My thoughts exactly.
I looked up the shop and mechanic on the CPS website, and he has taken the classes. But...
I have offered to put the owner and club President in contact with some of the experts on this board, at least for a phone conversation. We'll see.

Re: Unfiltered Auto Fuel
Gascolator has always been real clean at annual time. Interesting... This goes to my theory, about the quality of the service received during 100 hours. The planes in question both had problems on takeoff, developing full power. No damage, just scary moments. I'm wondering if, post incident, the Ga...

Re: Unfiltered Auto Fuel
You don't mention whether the owner, who was persuaded to switch to 100LL, will be using any kind of lead scavenger such as Decalin? Yes, Decalin is in the plane, ready for misuse by renters. I did notify the Club President about this CFI's "advice" to the owner. He was unaware of this, a...

Unfiltered Auto Fuel
Has anyone had problems with unfiltered auto fuel in a Rotax 912ULS? A CFI at the club I belong to convinced the plane's owner to switch to 100LL because of the LSA's were having starvation problems. It seemed to me that the maintenance shop wasn't doing their job. The CFI is a CFI, CFII, ATP who ju...
