Re: Factory-built Zenith STOL CH750 SLSA
The 750 I used to rent had a lot of hours in it. Buzz air flight academy bought it from my local school. they are located in another state then me not sure where. But I believe they are still doing flight training in it. So it is very durable. As for parts Zenith has been around a long time and I do...

Re: Factory-built Zenith STOL CH750 SLSA
Doug gave me a demo in a 701 before I bought my 701 kit (Still building). He is a great guy very nice. I have a good portion of time in a Ch-750 as my local airport used to have one for rent(it has now been sold) I have flown a 6ft person in the plane with out issue. However, I am only 5'6 and have ...

Re: Comme ci comme ca....
Doing low passes is exactly how I get comfortable with landing on any new plane I fly. The advice above is excellent.

Re: Factory-built Zenith STOL CH750 SLSA
Factory built zenith Ch-750 have been around before. I have some hours in one they used to rent in Carson City, Nevada. Which was bought by buzz flight school and moved. As for quality it stood up well to students using it. The disadvantage as a trainer is they can be a bit harder to land. You can g...

There is a savage cub in San Jose I flew with an instructor. I will have to look it up where and who has it.

Re: Folding Wings / Trailerable Aircraft
The airplane I am building has folding wings. It's a Zenith ch-701. It is a tricycle gear stol aircraft. I have not seen one folded but I was told by someone who has, it is a two man job and to expect 20 to 30 minutes. Fuel does need to be drained from the wings before hand.

Re: Sad Ending to a Great High-Sierra Nevada Fly-In
I have landed on that dry lake bed a few times. I never felt it was a dangerous place at all. I no longer land there though as my issuance agent informed me landing anywhere that is not established for aircraft will result in me not being covered. And I could not get them to charge me more for a wai...

Re: How long did it take you to get your SPL?
I did mine just over 20. However, I did continue to have lessons from my instructor after I got my license. I added airspace endorsements did some better crosswind training on a windy day and experienced different planes. I feel that even though you are an official pilot it sure does not hurt to get...

And cost $60,000 to $80,000 and they would have the market.

Delay BFR
What are the disadvantages of delaying my flight review. It's been 2 years since I got my sport pilot license. It's time to do my BFR. Unfortunately, some unexpected and unplanned events happened and income is extremely tonight for a little while. I don't think I will be flying for a few months obvi...

Re: Best Location for Plane & Pilot
As for Florida I just always wanted to fly a sea plane and they have tons on places for that. But to be honest never flew there. As for Lake Tahoe it's a wonderful area. I live in Minden about 20 minutes down the mountain. We have a great airport with 3 runways one dedicated to gliders. There is als...

Re: Best Location for Plane & Pilot
I would choose Lake Tahoe. Spectacular views year round. But I am biased because I live close by. My second place I would like to live and fly would be Florida.

Re: Assistance Locating a Local SPCFI and LSA
I know it's an 8 hr drive but carson city nevada has two a high wing zenith ch750 and a low wing zenith ch 650. Paul Hamilton is their LSA instructor. However, they do require 10 hrs in type to solo now.

Re: Ordering 701 tail kit
I picked up my tail kit. I also ordered the tool kit so I ended up with a really big crate. I had it delivered to the fedex shipping center and I picked it up there. The wife helped me unload the crate into the garage. I opened the crate everything was wrapped up tight. I pulled all the tools out an...
