I personally have flown the SportCruiser, (now PiperSport) several times and feel that it is a great little airplane that should have been much more popular than what it was, unfortunately due to some of the internal issues. But, with Piper now distributing this roomy and nice flying aircraft, I wou...

Piper Brings to Market a Light Sport Aircraft (Take 2)
This is a restart of the original thread started by KSCessnaDriver that veered off topic. Let's hope this one stays on the topic of discussion about the aircraft and the company forrey into the LSA market. Original post from KSCessnaDriver "I saw this on one of the various aviation forum's that...

Got some email from the guy who owns the company and the aircraft look like a good one!

Re: Flying the Evektor Sportstar
I have about 55 hours in Sportstars, both the model with the fuel in the fuselage, and the newer "plus" model with the fuel in the wings and an extra 55 lbs of useful load. The Sporstar has no real vices. It accelerates fast on takeoff, and requires attention to right rudder to keep it on...

I think you guys are missing the original question. My confusion does not rest in wether the Sonex is LSA compliant or not, it is. My confusion is with the builder saying that he only needs to fly off 5 hours because the aircraft is registered as LSA? He said that if it was registered as an experime...

Experimental Light Sport?
I was looking at a Sonex and asked about the owner flying off the hours of the newly built aircraft along with the newly built Aerovee engine kit. Here was his reply which confused me a bit... FAA requires only 5 hours flight time for aircraft registered as an "LSA". If the same aircraft w...
