Got your license... now what?

My mind wandered (glad it came back!) on the commute this morning and I got to thinking about a glaring omission in my pilot training, and was wondering if others had the same experience. Imagine if your entire exposure to automobile travel was taxis. As far as you knew, you waved at a yellow car wi...

Give this a quick watch. Maybe it'll help.

Re: Two Airplanes Colliding Over Nevada--Video

The report also states that the two aircraft that collided were #2 & 3 of a planned 3-plane (loose) formation flight, with the Savannah being #3. It doesn't go into whether the ever received training in formation flying.

Re: Purchasing choices

If you are open to the suggestion, there's a product called B-kool which is an icebox based air chiller. This should work nicely to keep the cabin cool during takeoff and landing. I have it on my "saved list" to acquire one shortly for my Sportcruiser as I don't want to forget to latch th...

Re: The "Charade" of BasicMed

To be honest, I'm okay with how it was written and how it came about. My last medical was issued about 12 or so years ago, so it's not like I missed out by only a few days (it must sting for the unlucky few who were out by a day!). The reason I'm okay with it is that the legislation came about the w...

Re: Hello from WV

Mark - Welcome! What part of WV are you in? I'm in the Eastern Panhandle (I like the confused look I get when I say I live in "North-East West Virginia"). If you're anywhere near this area, Martinsburg has a CTSW in their rental fleet. Haven't had time to schedule a BFR and Checkout in it,...

Re: Who is Right?

Slightly detouring the tread.... If it takes an amount of time to get the point of crossing a runway, even if cleared, do most people normally double check with Ground, just in case an arrival showed up in the meantime? If so, what amount of time, as a rule of thumb, would you use? The scenario that...

Re: Who is Right?

Ugggh. Not enough clarity in the question and answers that are too open to interpretation. Too many are like that. I don't like "A" because as stated, Ground must now issue an explicit clearance to cross a runway (even a closed one). And... they can not clear you to cross multiple runways ...

I believe this is correct. On the other hand, your preparedness for the exam probably does expire, sort of. Good luck!
