quicksilver SLSA and rides for compensation.
The dealer thinks I can put a sign out in front of the small airport here and advertise scenic rides if I have a commercial rateing, (i do). I'm almost positive an SLSA aircraft can only be used for rental and instuction only. Giving senic rides would be nice as I do not want to reinstate my experie...

remove wings on quicksilver? (SLSA)
Looking to buy the new SLSA quicksilver. To trailer it home the dealer says I can remove and put the wings back on myself and don't need a A@P to sign it off. Is that correct?

Can anyone tell me more about a BRS system. I know they cost around 5 grand. Do they have to be repacked every 5 yrs or does that depend on the manufacturer? And then there is the rocket, is that good for 7yrs? And I guess you can't ship them via UPS etc. Any info woulod help, thanks

quicksilvers new SLSA intro price
The sport version 2SE (the strutted version) will have an introductory price of $39,900 until July 4, 2014. This also includes a hand held radio and some other stuff. Altogether maybe $400-$500 of extras. If you follow these intro prices what do you think the price would go to after the dead line is...

Re: quicksilver a/c
Well, I asked for a quote from Falcon and they gave me $1600/yr. I guess I better e-mail Uflyit and tell them I found an insurance company for them.

Re: would you fly w/out insurance?
Gosh, I really want to fly floats (amphips) and that might be my only option. Can an airport keep you out if they find out you don't have insurance?

Re: can a public airport keep you out?
I don't think walking out to the hangers is a big issue if you go thru the main lobby etc. If your flying at the same airport I'm sure you could get some arrangement to get in but I was thinking more if you were trailering it on a long vacation and it all of sudden it got servere clear and you wante...

can a public airport keep you out?
I'm looking at the Aeroteck plane which has the folding wings like Kitfox etc. If I bring it to an airport do they have to let me in? Pre 9/11 it wouldn't have been much of an issue but now they are fenced in pretty good. I don't know if the local FBO is going to be real happy to go out and unlock t...
