Re: If this ever becomes sport pilot eligible

Not comfortable for long trips, but fast as all get out.
Some consider them to be the Martin Marauder of home builts.

Re: Pireps

I try to fly at least once a week. I usually only post about flying the Cub, rarely about the Cessnas or the Warrior.
Here is a montage from earlier this week I hope this works.

Re: Pireps

I fly (mostly) Cubs. Only 11 gal usable. Anything more then an hour and a half and I need to be parked next to a fuel pump or I'm going to be walking home.
Every trip is a marathon, (time, not distance) and every trip is an adventure.
Life is great.

Re: Winter Downtime

I try to fly at least once a week, all year long. That does get to be a challenge here in the northeast, but being retired helps. I can cherry pick my days. Then you learn to live with the cold. The J3 is VERY short on creature comforts. Like heat. Or doors that seal at all. I think I've only missed...

Re: I need a ruling

Ah, but the tablet is already obsolete the first time you power it up. A good A2, OTOH, lasts for a half-century or more! Yup. I've still got mine from my Air Force days. Heck, I still have mine from my CAP days back in the early 60's. Take care of them, and they last forever. Not that I'm going to...

Re: Wing progam and recalcitrant CFI

Thanks for the answer.
It turns out there are people who have been flying for a few years and their CFI never signed them off after getting their certs
It's a shame every CFI isn't on board with this program.
I don't have a whole lot of use for much of what the FAA does, but this program is well done.

Knock 'em dead.

Wing progam and recalcitrant CFI

Hello, A couple of weeks ago, I was hanger flying with a couple of guys working towards their Light Sport certs. I suggested that they should look into the Wings Program, as they have some nice courses, and the break on insurance is nothing to sneeze at. Both students explained that their instructor...

Re: Hand Proping

I have personally done it. A 100hp with a 3 bladed prop, Maybe 4(?) times.
It's easier to hand prop a 77 year old Cub, and probably safer.

Hence the rundown condition.
People don't use facilities if they don't feel welcome.
If they don't use the facilities, no money changes hands.
