Re: So the FAA called me today.
§ 91.113 Right-of-way rules: Except water operations. (d) Converging. When aircraft of the same category are converging at approximately the same altitude (except head-on, or nearly so), the aircraft to the other's right has the right-of-way. If the aircraft are of different categories - That's wha...

Re: So the FAA called me today.
Take a look at the approach plates for that airport and don't put yourself in a position or altitude to tangle with landing or departing traffic. You can also monitor their tower frequency to be aware of landing and departing traffic. Remember that ATC only guarantees traffic separation for IFR/IFR...

Re: So the FAA called me today.
So here's the story. Apparently ... I departed my local airport, 6B6. Normal take off, nothing unusual. Normal climb, runway heading. Take out flaps about 600'. Climb at 65-70 knots. I've never realized this before, because it's seldom an issue, but ... the approach for Runway 11 at KBED passes a co...

So the FAA called me today.
According to the Voice Mail, they're investigating a near "mid-air collision" and would like to talk to me.
I don't have a clue what it's about and haven't flown my airplane in a month.
Advice?

Re: An 1800 lb LSA?
The Terrafugia Transition is done. Terrafugia has laid off almost all the staff working on the project. It's no longer feasible. If someone wants to step up to the plate and pay $750,000 for a "one off", they'll build you one. Other than that, it's over. It does fly fairly well, but the au...

Re: Brake Bleeding problem
So we tried Roger's methodology yesterday ... semi-successful. After about 20 minutes of pumping fluid up from the brake caliper, we took out the seat to trace the brake line. Under the Pilots seats, we found a "hump" in the brake line, that routed the line up & over the wing spar ... ...

[quote="FastEddieB"]After using Pledge on windows for decades, I find this works even better:
All old bikers learned to use Pledge, right after they learned to ride with a windshield, to stop eating bugs.

Re: Brake Bleeding problem
Whose brakes are they. There are different ways to bleed some brakes. The most common for most brake systems is from the bottom up. There are a couple of brake systems out there that take a special procedure and there is no written documentation to do it. The Gobosh is one of them. Most systems sho...

Brake Bleeding problem
My airplane has been in the shop way too long and we still can't seem to get the brakes bled. I have a Sting Sport, with brakes only on the Pilot side and it has an emergency brake. We've tried applying pressure through the Reservoir and bleeding conventionally. We'd tried applying pressure through ...

Re: Pilot's Age
Up until very recently, there was 92 year old flying around Florida in his Eclipse Jet.
I forget the whole story, but a year or so ago, he found he was a little behind the airplane.

Re: Pilots Bill Of Rights 2
I'll bet I'm as safe to fly as you are. You are obviously safer based on talent as a pilot. I wouldn't fly with me right now. :) But if you want to make the claim you are medically as safe, that's just not so. Just as I am not as medically safe as a 20 year old. There's a reason medical and life in...
