They say this helps in getting a better price when selling the car/aircraft!Hambone wrote:Great video!
I see that the factory protective plastic is still on the seats, just like in many Emirati cars here in the UAE!

Winter weather is amazing in the desert. But sadly it only lasts for a few weeks.drseti wrote:What beautiful flying conditions you have, Faisal. I'm jealous of your bright blue sky!

Re: TCAS on LSA
Thank you. What do you think of the Garmin GDL 39? How can know that it will work where I fly? I think you can see ADSB coverage on this page https://flightaware.com/adsb/ ADSB in/out probably makes more sense than TCAS and it comes with free weather. The GDL 39 looks like a partial / portable solu...

Re: TCAS on LSA
Good day fellow pilots, ...When flying VFR in the vicinity of the airport we turn off our transponder in order not to disturb the ATC at the big airport. Good day! Or whatever time of day it is over there! Turning off the transponder just seems odd to me in that case. A large part of my flying was ...

Re: TCAS on LSA
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between PCAS and TCAS? Faisal. TCAS actively polls transponders in aircraft with line of sight. PCAS is passive and relies on things like TCAS in airliners to poll nearby aircraft then the PCAS can see it when it replies. http://www.amazon.com/...

Good day fellow pilots, I fly in a small uncontrolled airport (OETH) 15nm north of OERK/KIA (an international airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). My aircraft is a Tecnam Sierra equipped with aera 795. I need some advice on what is the most suitable and workable TCAS system to install. When flying VFR...

We are in the process of switching to ADSB, it is mandated.

Re: PPL logging hrs in a LSA
Thanks all for the help. When I went for my PPL renewal (it was in UAE and they have recently switch to JAR rules) my CFI crossed out my hours in the LSA in the logbook, and said since the aircraft is less than 12500 lbs you cannot log the hrs. Anyways I will follow the norm in the US and start log...

Faisal -- I'm sure many of us are unaware of the regulations governing a Private Pilot in Saudi Arabia. Could you point us to a link or give us some high level details? Unfortunately the General Civil Aviation Authority (GACA) web site dose not have organised info but you need to go to safety secti...

Re: Faisal from Saudi Arabia
One of the main issues that I am working on is to set up the Rules and Regulations governing sport flying, and any help in that matter will be highly appreciated. That is interesting, in what capacity are you working on this? I am a board member of the Saudi Arabian Air Sports Federation. Faisal.

Welcome aboard, Faisal. It's great to see some geographic diversity added to this forum, as I have seen the value of hearing from other countries about their Sport Aviation experience...although typically on other regional forums. I think one thing we would appreciate hearing about from you about i...

Re: Faisal from Saudi Arabia
Many of us here are very familiar with the LSA rules, restrictions, and limitations in the US. Unfortiunately, I know of no ICAO standards for LSA operation. I have no knowledge of Saudi aviation regulations, but if they're similar to those in the US, perhaps we can provide some guidance. If the ai...
