Christavia LSA?

Does anyone know if you can certify an experimental as a LSA if you place the gross at 1320 even though the gross per the designer is 1500? Obviously I'm talking about an aircraft that has never been certified before. If someone questions the useful load can't I just make it a single seater by takin...

Re: Aeronca 7AC Champ empty weights

Hmmm, well I found a gorgeous 65 hp one. NOT electric No wing tanks. But it is 869 empty and 1220 gross. Is this average or heavy? I don't want to buy a dog just because it is pretty. Or not be able to put 2 people in it and fly a good hour or so.

Aeronca 7AC Champ empty weights

What would the normal empty weight be for a 65HP Champ? I see some very nices ones but they seem to be pretty heavy. I don't want to give up 50 lbs. or more in performance just because it looks beautiful.

For $10, the FAA will sell you a data CD for that particular aircraft (by N number), that will include all STCs and 337s filed. If the CD is clean, and the logb...

Re: LSA Manufacturers are missing the boat

Trailerable aircraft; The Kitfox has been around over 25 years and would be the winner there. But I hear trailering is not all it seems. Most people who can trailer eventually just get a hangar. Plus you have to make sure that it is truly a one person wing fold and can be done most every flight. Tha...

Legal sport aircraft?????

I have been looking at a supposed Light Sport Champ. But I do not know if it is light sport compliant or not. Some of the changes made in the past MAY have been done to increase the GW to 1350. That takes it out of Light sport. But they may have been done for other reasons. For instance adding a win...
