I'm not in Oshkosh, but this article popped up in my feed earlier this week.

Re: MOSAIC
I don't think that's likely because the Flight Standards division is behind 14 CFR § 61.315 and they are the ones who determine night flight in (c)(5) and other stuff like altitude restrictions in (c)(11). That regulation allows sport certificate holders to fly anything designated LSA in (a). If Fl...

Re: Class C Frequency Confusion
Looking at the green book version of it looks clearer than what AirNav has. It almost looks like it's just lost in translation. https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/2010/afdpdf/NE_372_10SEP2020.pdf APP/DEP CON 118.15 Rwy 16/34 (360º–150º) Rwy 06 (235º–074º) 126.9 Rwy 16/34 (151º–359º) Rwy 06 (075º–234º) ...

Re: Sport Pilot WINGS Flight Activity without LSA?
Amster105, There is a way around your problem depending on the glider you will be learning in. You can do a Sport Pilot Glider add on without having to solo. You train to proficiency with one instructor and do a proficiency ride with another. Once completed you can now do a flight review in the gli...

Re: Sport Pilot WINGS Flight Activity without LSA?
It is my understanding that you can only get credit for WINGS flight activities in a category and class of aircraft for which you are rated. This is why, for example, student pilots cannot earn a Phase of WINGS. How does LSA weigh in when it comes to Category and Class? I have category and class fo...

Re: Sport Pilot WINGS Flight Activity without LSA?
This Letter of Interpretation explains why a rated pilot needs a Flight Review pretty well. But in short it comes down to: Student Pilots are explicitly exempt from Flight Review regulations. 61.56(g) And the endorsement a student pilot gets is different than the endorsement a rated pilot (Sport an...

Sport Pilot WINGS Flight Activity without LSA?
I'm currently rated as a Sport Pilot with ASEL and ASES. My Flight Review lapsed about 2 years ago, (last FR was ~4 years ago). I am now considering getting my PPL-Glider next year. But in order to solo a Glider, I will need to have a valid Flight Review. (The solo endorsement for certified pilots d...

Re: Arion Lightning Partnership KMMK
...keep in mind the older ones have a far better useful load than the new ones... Thanks for confirming this for me. I learned to fly on a 2007 SportCruiser, but haven't flown it or another SportCruiser in over 6 years. Until recently that is, when I got a chance to fly one of the newer models. I b...

Re: Hi from CT
Hi Tony
I'm from CT as well. I used to rent from Danbury, but they no longer have an LSA for rent.
There is a Light Sport at Chester, CT, even though it doesn't say it on their website. I'm not sure how far that is from you but that could be one option.

Rental Finder Question
Hi - I'm going to be visiting Florida later this month and was looking to see if there were LSAs around to rent for some sight-seeing while I'm there. I tried looking at the Rental Finder Map here on SPT, however half of the links seem to be dead. How and how often (if at all) does this typically ge...
