Re: Vashon Ranger
I flew the Ranger this morning (In The Patter, DTO). I really enjoyed the experience. I have time in the Jabiru (J230SP) and Piper Cub. The Cub helped me to dance on the rudder while taxiing, need some more time to get use to the breaks and nose wheel. As per the flying, easy to maneuver and a joy t...

Re: LSA 2023 Update
Figures, Asking for LSA changes: What it seems we are getting; nothing, maybe single lever control (LSA) LPA why IDK. I am very happy with LSA rules as they stand, it would have been nice for some additional (weight) plane inclusions. For those waiting to make a purchase but waiting for that possibi...

Re: 130shp turboprop
My 2 cents, IDK what the new regs will say. I am just hopeful that at least the C152 type planes can make the cut. This would make a lot of difference for us that don’t own a plane, and don’t have access to LSA in our vicinity to rent. I have been flying a 152 and 172 with a CFI, working on new mane...

Re: Rent dual only?
My flight school LSA is down for major repairs, I found another flight school, they have a Cub and I will be training on it when the weather gets warmer. Both places are at least one to one and half hours away.
My advice is fly what ever makes you happier, makes the drive less of a burden.

Re: Class D/C/B endorsement question
If you read FAR 91.131(b)(2), it says: ...no person may take off or land a civil aircraft at those airports listed in section 4 of appendix D to this part unless the pilot in command holds at least a private pilot certificate. (Emphasis added.) Thus, the prohibition of the Big 12 Airports refers to...

Jack and Brian are correct in what they cite; according to the FARs, a single signoff will suffice if you're a licensed Sport Pilot. Now, from a practical standpoint... As the owner of the aircraft, I am free to set standards more rigorous than the FAA's in deciding who I'll rent the plane to, and ...

Re: Flight Plan
I have no idea what Leidos is but under route of flight is where you typically input your stops. If going direct from one airport to another you can leave it blank or put "direct". For a cross country trip you are leaving airport A and returning to airport A so your route of flight would ...

Flight Plan
I was looking at the Leídos web site. Under flight plans they have a blank that is asking for “Route of Flight”, the pull down menu has several options, IDK how to complete. I am in the process of moving on to cross country in my SP training and any help would be appreciated it.
Thanks
