Re: HEATER?

The heater is a Hayden 676 transmission cooler. Less than $40 on ebay.
I purchased this for my airplane and will be installing this next annual.
There are quite a few people active on the viking zenith forum who are happy with this setup.

Re: Removing the rudderless Ercoupe "curse" from license?

I think the reasoning is sound. And why stop there? Stick vs yoke. Dual sticks vs center stick. Mixture vs no mixture. Carb heat vs no carb heat. Flaps vs. flaperons. Electric trim vs trim wheel. Stabilator vs elevator. Etc... Think of the opportunity for hours and hours of paid training and multipl...

The Avmap Engibox for Rotax engines needs ungrounded probes.

Anyone who puts in this much time, effort, research and thought has what it takes to make this flight.
You can do it.

Re: Deal or not?

Nice airplane.
So much for Elsa being worth less than Slsa.
I wonder if the engine has the case fretting issues. I believe 2005 falls in the time frame.
The engine may be a candidate for a short block replacement rather than a complete engine.

Re: The more i learn the less i know

True, but there's more to earning a PP than just holding a medical certificate. There's night training, hood training, a longer solo XC, and more dual and solo hours. As far as I'm concerned, the PP has earned those extra privileges. I just don’t see it - it is all about a medical certificate. PP t...

Re: The new Sport Pilot Rule Changes

But deciphering metars, drawing on paper charts, using the e6b slide-rule and the magnetic compass are all part of the hazing ritual that the in crowd uses to discourage people who won’t pay to learn the useless information.

Re: Burping the Rotax

But if the oil tank had 3 litres of oil in it in the first place, and the oil is on the dipstick flat, there can't possible be too much oil in the crankcase. Sure sounds right. I can’t help but suspect that in a few years we will all be feeling silly about all the times we burped our engines when R...

Re: Burping the Rotax

My procedure to check the oil level includes checking it when I finish a flight. When I arrive for another flight in a day or two, is it necessary to burp the Rotax and check it again? If there is no oil leaking, it should be good to go, correct? I'm wondering if it is necessary or can I just crank...
