Re: Experience with the Viper SD4?
Don't know how old you are, but another thing to consider is ease of getting in and out of a low wing vs high wing as you and your wife get older and/or heavier. I’m 41 and wife is 40, both in fairly good shape. But I know what you’re saying. We took my mom’s boyfriend up in a PA28A a few months ag...

Re: Experience with the Viper SD4?
Another vote for the Sling. The Sling 2 is what got me to be a Sport Pilot. Love the plane, but needed a bit more useful load (as a bigger pilot). Have you considered the Sportcruiser? I love mine. Bunch of fun to fly and the early ones are priced very well and perfect for an E-LSA conversion. Sorr...

Re: Experience with the Viper SD4?
Where in HN are You? I live in Hollis NH and fly out of Nashua Airport. Currently I rent from East Coast Aero Club (just got out of one of their Warriors) and I have really enjoyed being able to fly so many great planes (trainers, complex, high performance), but I think it’s time to get my own. I’m...

Re: Experience with the Viper SD4?
So it sounds like no one in the crowd has flown the Viper. Not surprising when there are so many wonderful & proven LSA’s already on the market. @Sling 2 Pilot I am definitely considering the Sling 2. In fact, my original first choice was the Sling TSi with the 915iS. However, the price range wa...

Experience with the Viper SD4?
I’m a recently licensed Private Pilot, as of March 5th, with most of my 148 hrs in low wing planes (PA28A, PA28R, SR20). I’m in the process of searching for a cost efficient (i.e. LSA with fuel-sipping Rotax) 2-seat low wing plane for my wife and I. After I purchase the plane I plan to register it a...

Turbo-charging the 912ULS
Has anyone bought an EFI (electronic fuel injection) and turbo-charge upgrade to their Rotax 912ULS from Edge Performance, or, their dealer in Alberta Canada; Bad Ass Power Sports? From what I understand it requires that the owner register the plane as LSA-Experimental, and, it can significantly imp...

Flying outside the U.S.
I’ve been reading that the Bahamas recognizes the U.S. Sport Pilot license, making it easy for us to flying to any of their 64 airports there, which is great. Does anyone here have experience getting special permission to fly into other countries, like Canada? My wife and I live in New Hampshire and...

Re: Sirius TL-3000
I concur that glass is the way to go, and for me, Skyview leads the pack. Two full large Dynon panels with autopilot, comm, GPS, transponder, dual ADAHARS, full ADS-B in and out, and dual backup batteries weigh a fraction of what six round gauges do. You can easily select between six-pack and EFIS ...

Re: Sirius TL-3000
Airplanes are very different in build quality and capability/flight characteristics and supp a Airplanes are a big investment. I strongly suggest taking the time to travel around the country and get a good demo flight in several aircraft before you make a decision! I find that very good advice. Mar...

Re: Sirius TL-3000
Welcome. I flew it once and it is a nice plane, cockpit interior and general feel very similar to the Sting - not surprisingly , since it is the same company. Ultimately I bought the Sting since I love the open canopy feeling but if you a high wing type of guy and like Cessna style cockpit then the...

Sirius TL-3000
I'm a student pilot working toward my SP certificate and I'm starting to take a look at some of the LSA options that I may consider for purchase later this year. Clearly I'll need to spend a fair amount of time on demo flights before I can have an inclination as to which plane I truly enjoy flying, ...
