FAA List of Go/No-Go OTC Meds

The FAA has posted a nice little article that helps pilots make a go/no-go decision if they are taking over-the-counter meds for colds, coughs, indigestion, or other common medical conditions. In case you didn't see it, here is the link: https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/medical_certificatio...

Re: ICAO flight plan format

Not sure that actually answers the question. Those FAQ's refer mainly to the 2020 mandate for ADS-B Out. I don't know that it specifies that a flight plan should list ADSB-In equipage if such equipage is not permanently mounted in the aircraft.

Re: ICAO flight plan format

plus “B2” (for 1090 MHz ADS-B “out” capability) B2 is actually ADS-B "in and out" capability. I've been specifying B1 - ADS-B "out" - for the ICAO form. But that raises a question: I do have ADS-B "in" using a Garmin GDL-39 and an iPad with Garmin Pilot, but as those a...

I do it every other Annual on my Sting. Not that big a deal, but easier with two people.

Re: Texas Aircraft "Colt" LSA

I, for one, would not take much stock in what someone says about dates when their goal is to sell airplanes (I refer to Ken, not Dan). I chuckle every time someone on this forum reports what they heard about LSA rules changes from sales people at Oshkosh this year. Sales people are eternal optimists...

Re: GPS Working is now your responsibility

New NOTAM now says GA aircraft are exempt from this whole mess as long as they use WAAS GPS source (and all ADSB-In solutions certified for 2020 mandate use WAAS). https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/faa-clarifies-ads-b-preflights-ga-is-exempt/?MailingID=99&utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medi...

Re: Takeoff Performance

I wouldn't call it "tilting at windmills". I applaud your dedication to understanding the performance of your aircraft to that extent. Far too many pilots just shrug and say "well, I usually get off the ground in xxx feet, so I should be good". Part of me thinks that the low gran...
