Re: MOSAIC

Anyone at AirVenture hear of any presentations about the status of this? I would have thought they would be providing some level of update as to what the timeline looks like.

Thanks
Jeremy

Forgot to mention that the seller is looking for Best Offer on whole package and might be open to selling the engine separately.

2008 601XL partially built kit

I am assisting the seller, so please contact him with any questions, contact at the bottom. This would be a great kit for an experienced builder. it is a 2008 Zenith 601XL kit. Wings are complete and have the required Spar upgrade already completed. Dual tanks in each wing for a total of 48 gal over...

Re: Typical Training Time

As an instructor I will tell you that there are several different factors that will effect the number of hours that it will take to complete your training. First is the airplane. When the FAA came up with the 20 hour minimum they were envisioning people learning in two seat ultralight type aircraft...

Re: Typical Training Time

I will provide you my feedback, but I have not pass my check ride yet. Started in 2019 and with 2 plane incidents in separate planes and a bunch of setbacks with weather. starting in July 2020, scheduled lessons 3 times a week, but typically only ended up getting one lesson every 2 weeks. at the age...

Re: Forced landing... what happens next?

good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks about these things. I'm still a student and staying close to an airport at all times (for now until the x-country). if there is an off airport landing, how do you get assistance, don't think AAA will help you.

Re: Rent dual only?

My flight school LSA is down for major repairs, I found another flight school, they have a Cub and I will be training on it when the weather gets warmer. Both places are at least one to one and half hours away. My advice is fly what ever makes you happier, makes the drive less of a burden. If you t...

Re: Electric LSA

Both the Alpha Electro and the Panthera are both categorized as Experimental Exhibition due to the first ones in the US and will be used by the FAA for the certification. I would assume that once the final review is finished it would be certificated where they should.

Re: New guy from CT

Welcome Fish, I'm also a student pilot in CT (5 whole hours under my belt) and started my training with Learn2Fly CT out of Hartford-Brainard (KHFD). I am working on my Sport Pilot certificate, but their LSA plane has been out for repairs which should be back anytime. Good luck on your training and ...

Here is the latest presentation by Dan Johnson regarding multiple interviews with FAA regulators recently. Not sure if the imbedded video will play so included the link.

Re: Tie-Down Tail strike

That tail stand is a great idea, I would probably make a stand and shape the seat to fit the curve and cover it in carpet or a garden kneeling pad. I would tie it down super tight, but just snug it up. I would make sure it had a wide enough base to prevent tipping over easily. thinking about the pla...

Re: Tie-Down Tail strike

I think the bottom of mine is either plastic or carbon. I do have some mounting screws to hold the front of the bottom panel on, wonder if I could remove those for those attachment points. I'm an S-LSA and would I need an LOA for this? Could I some velcro through some PVC pipe work also so its not a...

I have this in my p92.
Easy install, minimal mods and it keeps the controls neutral.
I think that a lot and curious if that would fit in a Pipistrel Alpha. any special installation required?

thanks

Re: LSA in CT

I have gone up in it and she is very agile and climbs great at MTOW. in the pattern, she goes to idle and glides right in with maybe a slight slip. Trying to figure out an instructor since they are all new to the plane and they are trying to used to her sight picture and controls before they get any...

Re: LSA in CT

That was the owner of the school giving familiarization training to the CFI's. There are 3 now available to train students and check renters out. It sure is different to fly from the Kappa and yet really fun to fly. Long flights over an hour are a little tough on the butt, need a little more padding...
