How to get a plane certified in the US. It is certified in Germany now.
I know the title was a little vague. So I'm going to provide as much detail as I can below. I am trying to bring the first KFA Explorer UL600 to the US. My question is; what are my options? The end goal is to get this plane as a S-LSA as soon as possible. And unfortunately, I've searched high and lo...

Re: Hello from Georgia
Hey Sam,
Feel free to reach out to me.
I live about 15 minutes from KGVL and own a LSA. I bought it in February. It's hangared at a grass strip close by.
I'm a low time pilot as well. And know an awesome Sport Pilot instructor if you're willing to drive a little bit.

Re: Light Sport Instructors in North Geogia
More good news is I've kept my CFI current. But most of my instruction recently has been Flight Reviews, aircraft checkouts, tailwheel instruction and occasional "tune-ups" of a pilot's problem areas, mostly landings. Thanks for the reply FastEddie! I would love to do some stuff like that...

Light Sport Instructors in North Geogia
Does anyone know a CFI or CFIS in North Georgia that is open to doing flight training in a new S-LSA at a grass strip? I know that's a very specific question, haha. I just figured there might be a freelance or retired CFI that would be open to helping me finish my Sport License. And of course I woul...

Re: Here are my finances. I need your help please.
Thanks Richard (and Half Fast)! You both had great advice. I've been following some of your recent posts with your Sport Cruiser. I absolutely love that plane. My final two airplanes came down to a SC or AeroTrek. If I could afford one as nice as yours, I'd be all over it. Glad to see you've been ab...

Here are my finances. I need your help please.
Alright guys, I hope y'all aren't too hard on me for this, but I need some help. I have never owned an airplane but I have been around them my whole life. I grew up on a grass strip and my dad owned 15+ planes over the years. It was ultimately what came to his financial demise. He bought more plane ...

LSA Partnership in NE Atlanta
As January is coming closer and closer, I'm beginning to realize my dream of owning, might not be a reality (for now at least). My first mistake was finding 'the perfect airplane' yesterday. And going to see it in person, haha. In the mean time, I have been calling around to different financia...

Re: Aerotrek A220 and A240. What do you think?
You and your dad weigh 440 together, so your baggage would basically be limited to a shaving kit. Thanks Scoop. Guess it's time to get a whole new dad  Haha. Sincerely though, I do appreciate y'alls input. If you know of a high wing LSA that might suit us better, please let me know. I'll...

Re: Aerotrek A220 and A240. What do you think?
If I were in the market for a tube and fabric taildragger, I'd find it hard to beat. But beware the tundra tires - makes them squirelly to land on pavement. That's good to know. It was the (tundra) option I was going to go for. I 'like' the A240s as well, and they're definitely easier to find, but ...

Aerotrek A220 and A240. What do you think?
I'm in the market for a tailwheel LSA and keep coming back to the AeroTrek A220. It has a Rotax 912ULS, STOL capabilities, a (self proclaimed) 115knt max cruise, a killer looking panel, and are under $95k brand new. I've talked to Rob Rollison (AeroTrek dealer) and watched Dan Johnson's (among other...

I travel to Brasstown, NC from Atlanta.
About a 2 hour drive for me but well worth it. Vic Payne is an excellent instructor and you get to fly a Just SuperSTOL!
