Paul,
Great webinar on the subject. I may have to watch it a few more times just to sort it all out.

Re: Back to work?
I work for UGE (Unnamed Government Entity). I am still working from home as is most of my staff (we manage a 4 time zone network, probably a lot like your hospital system). Before this, some of the upper managers had a dim view of telework and such, but things have gone so well that I will be curiou...

Re: Power off emergency
I had a boss when I worked for the Navy who actually had an emergency landing in a field. I think he ended up in a corn field. His advice was to make sure you line up your landing with the rows of the crop. He ended up perpendicular to the rows and went nose over. Though, I am not sure how low you h...

Re: True or Magnetic?
Yes, runway headings are magnetic. And yes, on the runway, you line up into the wind. This works because surface winds are given in magnetic in METARs, TAFs, and weather reporting systems such as ASOS, AWOS, ATIS, and DIGIWX. I hate to disagree*, but Figure 7-1-7 on pg 955 and figure 7-1-21 pg 982 ...

True or Magnetic?
I am going through my ground school books and such for my Sport Pilot, and I am confused as to when one uses True North or Magnetic North. Is there some easy way to keep track of what to use when without riding around with the FARAIM in your lap? It just seems rather odd. Example (that everyone read...

Re: Finishing What Started
I had about 25 or so hours in back in the day in Pipers and Cessnas (logbook is MIA) - so that should put me somewhat ahead. I certainly remember my training. I doubt they do it now, but my instructor took me up one afternoon in a 150, and we did about 5 or 6 spins until he was sure I could recover ...

Re: Finishing What Started
Yes, I have been checking out all the available aircraft in the LSA category and the older planes that a sport pilot can fly like the Cubs and Ercoupes (I don't think I will be doing the real old ones that require hand prop start). I will have to work up to a long cross country. In my introduction, ...

Finishing What Started
Hello, I was very pleased to find this site as I have been thinking of getting back into flying. I was a member of our college's flying club in the late 70"s and managed to get through to my second solo cross country when graduation and life caught up with me. Now as my retirement is within the...
