Re: New to aviation / LSA
Hello All, Still tracking on getting my sport pilot certification. My goal was to try and get over to Florida in the spring or the fall. However, I found out last week that they offer light sport training at an airfield near me in Idaho. They are called Lattitude Aviation. A friend of mine is workin...

Re: New to aviation / LSA
Richard, Thank you for the awesome post! Good to go means, a lot of things haha. Medication that works, being consistent with my therapist, money, getting my ass out of bed and stop feeling sorry for myself! We are getting two new rat terriers and I have applied for a service dog. I was told to appl...

Re: New to aviation / LSA
Thank you all for continuing to post. I am fully invested in this goal. After sitting down with my wife and talking about a start date. I think spring or early summer is going to be the best for me. If she doesn't think I am good to go at any point, this is a non-starter for me. I feel like I am goo...

Re: New to aviation / LSA
Thank you, HF, I was just getting on to post I had talked to Brant from Sebring Flight Academy. Their course appears to be a week longer, a little more expensive but also includes housing. Both appear to be amazing! Brant was awesome to talk with and will be accommodating and comforting to my situat...

Re: Daniel A. Bernath Fatal Accident Factual Report
I remember reading about this guy when I was on active duty. I don't know his flying history but I believe he was faking being a Chief. Putting everything into perspective, he was a person with some serious insecurity. A Chief? At least get those stars bud! Unfortunately, he didn't get the help he n...

There is also Paul Hamilton in Las Vegas. Good Luck Paul H. is actually in Reno, which is even closer to the OP. Thanks Drseti, Reno. Reno would be great. I lived there when I was young. My best friend from second grade is a bartender and still lives there. I don't drink but it would be cool...

Re: New to aviation / LSA
Congrats on your dedication! It’s really cool how you want to share that dedication and enthusiasm with your children. Oh yes, we get it. Flying is BY FAR the most challenging and most rewarding thing that I’ve ever done... and that’s saying a lot considering the many things that I have done, in a ...

"What are your plans after getting your Sport Pilot Certificate? Quality Light-Sport Rentals are not easy to find. Do you plan on owning or building your own plane?" Thank you for all the great information. I have been looking at a kit I can help with and put a stronger engine in. We are r...
