ewww. I hope that part is not true. But, it does answer the question "Does the bear s___ in the woods?"

Any mention of the plane, or, did the bear eat it too?

Could the plane be in the lake? Underwater? If so, that is why they have not been able to find it to date.

Beautiful country. Those hills look pretty rugged. How high are they?

TV news said they have positively identified the plane. Engine was 300 feet from the rest of the plane, must have been one heck of an impact. But, they have not found any body and are still looking for remains. Did he do a 'Cooper' and bail out of the plane?

They found enough remains for dna testing. At least the family has some closure.

day of crash >AND GUSTY WINDS. /...WITH SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 15-25 MPH...ALONG WITH
HIGHER GUSTS.<

the lee of the ritter range is a place to be avoided in such conditions. the minarets are 12'000' and the bigger peaks are 13,000'. the minarets are arettes carved by glaciers on both sides of the ridges, notice the deep notches, winds funnel thru at high speed and then spill turbulently in the area of the crash.

perhaps the decathlon hit servere turbulence or sinking air it couldn't outclimb?
