Remos tire problem

I have had the pleasure of instructing in the Remos G3-600 and it is a fun airplane but there has been several instances of a tire going flat on landing and just taxing out to do a runup. This has happened on two different aircraft. I am curious if others have seen this problem or can shed some light on this problem.

not sure about remos, but lots of lsa use wheelbarrow tires, tubes and wheels.

i upgraded to aircraft tubes and tires, (my mains are 6x600) and have no issues.

i had 3 flats prior to upgrading tubes and each was from a new sticker in a new tire wearing thru the cheap tube.

I had a tire go flat after a normal landing in a SportStar once. Nothing unusual about the landing. The SportStar was doing T/O's & Landings all day however.

I don't think this is an isolated case. When I was visiting the Oshkosh Remos dealer last summer, their demo G3 was being towed in with a flat main gear tire. This happened when taxiing, not upon touchdown, and apparently was not the first time this had happened. The dealer's rep said this was a known, documented problem, and that Remos was going to switch to a different, more robust, tire.

I don't know about wheelbarrow tires and tubes but many manufacturers use a cheap chinese made tire. Also, many use a tube slightly the wrong size for the rim. I have seen this in about 7 different manufacturers. You will need authorization to change the tire and tube used by the manufacture.
