How to tackle FOI/AGI?
Just got my ASA Instructor test prep book and am going to use it to study for the FOI and AGI written tests so I can get my AGI while building time for my Sport Flight Instructor rating, and hoping to get the AGI here soon. Now does anyone have any online cirriculums or study methods they'd recommend to study the material? When training for my sport pilot license I used a combo of Sporty's and King School's (I had to get King's school since my flight school refused to let me skip the course they were conveniently selling ), but can't seem to find much of anything besides CFI refresher courses in that league.

I used Gleim for both and it worked out well. My actual scores were right in line with the sample tests, and I also feel that Gleim does a good job balancing “learning the test” and “learning the concepts.” Good luck!

I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting a Ground Instructor certificate as well, since I don’t qualify for CFI yet.
Im a fan of King Schools courses, so this is probably the route I’d go (link below). Although it’s listed on their website under Flight Instructor, it should be good for Ground Instructor as well, as it says:
In addition to advanced concepts of aerodynamics, you''ll get up-to-date on the subjects you''ll be tested on and more, including:
*Preflight and Inflight Cross-country Calculations
*Weight and Balance Principles and Calculations
*Teaching Aircraft Control
*Flight Instructor Responsibilities
*Flight Instruction and Planning Lessons
*Advanced Ground Instruction
And it covers FOI:
This is a complete CFI ground school and test prep course that includes preparation for the FOI or FAA Fundamentals of Instruction Exam at no additional cost.
