HEATER?

Post by Sling 2 Pilot »

Anyone add a cabin heater utilizing the ROTAX’s coolant? If so, does it have a fan and who is the manufacturer? Oh, and are you happy with it? Thanks in advance...

viking aircraft engines sells one and shows the install in a few different videos including this one https://youtu.be/atGLgOjqI5o.
Scroll to minute 21. It consists of a transmission cooler and 2 12 volt pancake fans.

The heater is a Hayden 676 transmission cooler. Less than $40 on ebay.
I purchased this for my airplane and will be installing this next annual.
There are quite a few people active on the viking zenith forum who are happy with this setup.

I worked on a Kitfox that had a heater using engine coolant, but do not know the details.
