Oh, I wasn’t asking for that very reason, I already know I can’t afford it.

The GDL-82 is a beautiful unit. The ease of install is amazing. It took me a couple of hours working alone to get it all up and running, with a perfect PAPR report. I did cheat and buy Aircraft Spruce's pre-made wiring harness. Definitely worth the $100 or so if you don't want to punch down a bunch of wires into D-sub connectors and such. All of the ACS harness wires are labeled and micro-stamped on the wire insulation with what each wire's function is, so you really can't mis-wire it if you can read English. :D

I also went with GDL-82.
Great unit. So far, rock solid. I also installed the "Anon" switch and monitor light (as did Shawn). Just because I could.
One nice thing about GDL-82 . . . I didn't have to drill any additional holes in my airplane to get it installed.

I recently installed a GDL82 in a Savannah, and it failed after a couple weeks. The other few I have installed are working okay as far as I know.
