Glare

Post by JJ Campbell »

I wear a hat with a black bill in my Tecnam Eaglet and the sun doesn't usually bother me looking out the windscreen. However, there is often glare on my 10" Advanced Flight System screen that makes it somewhat hard to read.

What have people found that helps reduce this glare?

Try flying at night, JJ!
The opinions posted are those of one CFI, and do not necessarily represent the FAA or its lawyers.

Try this company, they make anti-glare shields for aviation products including the Advanced Flight Systems displays. They show glare shields for the 3500 and 4500 models. One the home page select there's a "quick order" drop down box, just select Advanced Flight Systems and your model number. If they don't have the one you need they can make it. They offer 2 versions depending on your glare type, both under $20.

This.
I applied the NuShield anti-glare film on the screen of my Dynon EMS-D10, and it reduced the glare off the screen pretty dramatically.
